    Default Another New Car!!

Well guys, my Signum went in Feb this year and was replaced by a 55 plate Volvo V50 2.0D SE with 32k on the clock.

AFter only a couple of weeks the Volvo had developed a misfire and was hesitating and constantly going into limp home mode so it went back into the dealers 4 times to be fixed.

They spent about £1500 on labour and parts replacing sensors here there and everywhere and replaced the full throttle assembly but after only 200 miles the fault reappeared and this time it left it undriveable.

I took it back to the dealers again about 10 days ago and said I was going to contact my finance company to reject the car. The sales manager said that he would source me a replacement for it if he could and at that point I saw a gleaming black 56 plate S60 D5 (185) SE Auto in the showroom.

The screen price of the S60 was £1200 more than my settle on my V50 finance, but without even asking the manager said if I wanted it then the dealership would swallow the balance and transfer the S60 onto my current finance package.

The end of the story is that I now own an S60 D5 for which I am paying V50 2.0D money for. Now that is customer care for you. I never got that from Lookers Vauxhall.

1 week later and all is well, yes its a bit more thirsty than the 2.0D but I dont care!

    Now for the pics!

Nice cars the S60s. The D5 engines are nice. The 2.0D in the V50 are just a rebadged Ford tdci engine!

I really like volvos, but only the estates LOL. Its the rear end that just doesnt float my boat.

Glad you got good service there, seems to be a bit rare these days.

Its awesome. So smooth and rapid. Test drove the standard D5 in a V70 but it didnt feel that quick TBH.
the 185bhp version in this one tho is silky smooth and rapid as anything. Averaging 37 - 38mpg too which is only marginally lower than the old Signum 150 CDTI.

If you are thinking about it then do it - they are sooooo cheap now. This one was owned by a regional manager from Lex vehicle leasing and is immaculate. 1 owner, full book of stamps, top notch new tyres all round and recent brakes too. 48k miles on the clock so its only just run in!

Personally, I would opt for the 185bhp version though. The standard D5 just doesnt seem to pull the car along as well and with an auto box, the standard D5 seems to be constantly hunting around the gears where as this one will happily potter along in the same gear and throw you towards the horizon should you get an itchy foot!
