Talking New discs and pads fitted - painted calipers too

Got my new dics and pads fitted last week, so decided the calipers needed new paint.

I had Blue calipers before, but didn't like the colour. I had been trying to find a similar blue to the VXR Arden blue, but could never get, so I went for Red this time.

    Used Hammerite Red Smooth.
I found it to be qulite runny and took ages to dry.

The flash on the camera makes the red look orange... but they are a nice strong red in the flesh.

I've only managed to get one painted today. Started about 3ish, so I'll do the rest over next few days.

    What you think?

Nice one m8 I've got the same discs n pads coming hopefully tomorrow. They look good, like the red sets it off nice.
PS I'm going to paint the none contact parts of the discs with heat paint to stop any unsightly corrosion.

nice job mate, its an idea to paint the non contact areas of the disk as well to stop the rusting, makes them look much better through the wheel, i did mine in a gunmetal colour, most use silver.

    Thanks.
Got mine off Ebay from seller - MTEC.
they came with Mintex pads. £159.99

The discs look all rustly, but I washed the car just before I painted the calipers, so they don't look their best.

Do these discs look rusty really bad?
my last standard discs only looked rusty after the car had been washed. After a day or so of use after the wash, they looked normal again.
    Hope these don't rust up...

yes they do... if it was still winter you would notice it, however with monsoon season about to start you will notice soon enough.. While yours are new its easier to spray them, i had to sand mine down with some wet and dry to get the rust of before painting, They have been on less than 6 months... a job worth doing while your in there in my opinion..

very good disks though and I would buy them again

Can anyone post up a picture of what the Mintex pads look like from this set? My Mintex pads (bought from MTEC) look way different to the standard VX ones listed in the 'How To' section

Very nice mate! Mine took 2 days will all the clear coating and even after letting them set it was still a little soft... lost some colour getting the spring clips back in Your lucky to just have the small clips, mine has some HUGE square ones on front, they almost cover up the Vauxhall decals lol!

When you order them, make sure you tell MTEC exactly which age, and model Vectra you have.
I got sent the wrong rear pads because I didn't give the full details.
I got sent rear pads with springs at the top, when I needed pads with them on back instead - exchanged no problems.

I couldn't be bothered removing the spring clips, so just painted them too. They won't be removed for a long time (hopefully).
