    Default clutch release bearing

Recently noticed when i put clutch pedal down there is a vibrating sound, and i can feel it through the pedal also. Am i right in thinking it could be the release bearing? If so how much would i be looking at to get a new one fitted?

    Thanks

i have also got the vibrating and the reli loud rattle when the clutch bites, its deff the thrust bearing ( release bearing) new clutch kit will sort that out, but am not sure if your ment 2 replace the dual mass flywheel aswel when you change the clutch

It is recommended that a new dmf is fitted when a new clutch is fitted and vice versa! just like changing your drake discs you'd change you pads too.

If you need a new release bearing then the gear box will need taking out so probably be worth of replacing everything while its apart!

if there is a loud rattle when the clutch is up, it's more than likely the DMF failing not the release bearing, sorry,,,,,,,,

Sounds like the dmf (dual mass flywheel) mate, i have exactly the same problem and got my car booked in to do the dmf and clutch next week!

    just quick quesion?

does yours rattle when you rev the car and when the revs drop back to 1000rpm? also make the odd clunking noise while its ticking over just from time to time? aslo the sound should be coming from gearbox erea.

What engine have you got? 1.9cdti?

mine does this but no one mentions these symptoms

Im just hoping that mine is the dmf as its going to cost a hell of a lot to get it done n il be fumeing if it dont fix it

How long is a piece of string scott,it's a thrust bearing that is pre packed with grease, depends how long before it siezes up, if it doe's it will wear through the clutch release plate,
so the answer is no one can tell without removing gearbox.
