Default Possible fix for broken DMF???

So from what I can gather the point of a DMF is to disperse some of the torque to stop "judder" when pulling away....

So if I was to weld this pesky DMF solid it would fix that horrible rattle and give me a bit more uummph of the line? or would it? :-P lol

Can I get a bit feedback or ideas about this please?

Will I destroy my gearbox or are they quite sturdy?

    Thanks guys
