Guess what I saw last night ?

Sitting in my taxi waiting for the customer,a guy stops beside me and points down to the front nearside wheel and says "Did you know there was a snake by your front wheel?"...

got out and had a look and there it was about 12-15 inches long white with thin orange stripes,took a photo I will down load piccy later.by this time there are 4 people standing looking at it,a young couple walked by,had a look, picked it up and took it with them.the big question is where did it come from ?

Probably escaped from a tank and out the house, when i was at Uni my flat mate got a calafornian king snake, which got pretty big, problem was the tank lid wasnt very heavy so it could push the lid open and climb out.

We used to put a plate from the barbell on top of it but forgot every now and again. It escaped and dissapeared and after 4 weeks of searching for it we decided it was long gone and probably dead being winter and got rid of the tank.

About three months after that we got it after a night on the lash and it was just laying in the middle of the kitchen floor, we think it had been wrapped round a warm pipe under the floor and had finally got bored and come out.

We got it in a pillow case and gave it back to the pet shop down the road the moring after.

Yep, looks like a corn snake to me. My 11 year old daughter wants one.

indeed - from that image it does look like a common corn snake ....out and about, enjoying the warmth

I used to be a bit of an herpetologist in my younger days, king snakes, milk snake, burmese python and an iguana.

Rather you than me,I have a morbid fear of them,very nearly trod on an adder when I was a kid I was as white as a sheet for the rest of the day,most deadley one I have seen was in the arabian gulf a sea snake about 4ft long black with yellow bands glad I was on a boat at the time.
