    Default Oil from Tesco's (sorry, its in the wrong section!!)

    Guys,

    Needed some oil for a service 5w30 full syn.

    Halfords own Vx Spec 5w30 full syn 5L £38.00 (+ free!! screwdriver kit)

    Tesco (Castrol Magnatec) Vx Spec 4L 5w30 full syn £22.50!!

    Just went with 2 x Castrol.

    How often do you guys oil change (my dad got me in the habit of every 6-7k miles - I still do, after 22 years!!

    i used the castrol fully synth and change it about very 7k, i know fully synth last longer but as you say its habit.

    Changing your oil as often as you do is a great habit to get into. I had exactly the same thing drilled into me from my dad when I started driving, he was a Consultant Engineer to the motor industry with over 45 years experience. Still to this day my oil is changed every 6-7K with the best oil I can afford. I know that I will benefit in the long run.

    Go for the halfords the screwdriver kit is great. good quality as well. had mine over a year and got loads of use out of it.
