    Default the troubles continue (maybe)

Me again was driving with the windows down today it was a scorcher , under acceleration im getting a hissing sound from front offside at around when turbo spools up and i feel the car has lost some power (probably all in my head) even with windows up and radio off i can still hear it although not as loud only noticed this since dmf was done on wed. thought i would try boost valve clean, guess what when uncle arnold was doing my dmf he broke the cap off the top of the plug and it is hanging off, some black tape sorted that, yet to take it out for a drive after boost clean but if i stand out side car and rev i hear the hiss sound to me sounds a bit like a dump valve, anyone any ideas, is this just the turbo noise if so why havent i noticed it before.

sounds like a boost leak mate, check your boost pipes / intercooler for splits

take it this would have been damaged when the dmf was changed because thats where the dmf is situated.

Could the DMF rattle have been masking this noise in the past...?

Firstly phone them first thing on monday and tell them they have damaged something and you want the damage sorted and tell them you feel theres a lack of power.

The noise your hearing could well just be the turbo spooling up. Also if you accelarate and then take your foot of the gas while it is mid boost you will hear a dumping sounds thats the wastegate.

Unlikely as the intercooler is at the very front of the engine bay and the clutch dmf etc is in the middle at the very bottom.
Sounds like you have a split pipe somewhere. could be from the egr, intercooler or turbo.

Get someone to rev the engine whist you look / listen to the boost pipes. One could have been split / left disconnected whist the DMF was being changed.
