    Default Air Con Condensor Help!!

    Hi all,

Just taken 56 plate 1.9cdti to Kwik Fit and he tells me the condensor has packed in, it was spraying his gas all over the front of the car ha ha.

Now i know there quote and vaux is rediculous, however done some research on the site and found autoairconparts that sell them at a good cost, question is, he mentioned a drier i think or something i would need or something?

Is this true? Any advice/ help would be appreciated,

    Thanks in advance
    James

the receiver/dryer is the cylinder on the side of the condensor. this should always be replaced after any leak or compressor failure. some sort of filter inside and something to absorb the moisture in the system. once the system has a leak it absorbs all the moisture from the atmosphere and blocks up making system run at too high pressure.

The Vauxhall one comes with the dryer attached, part number 13114943, for all 1.9CDTI's. Most of the aftermarket ones dont, hence the price variance. the dryer can be bought from Vauxhall seperatley too, under part number 13115040. might be worth pricing this and see if it works out cheaper using this with a non gen condenser
