confused DMF Duel mass flywheel conversion kit?

    Hi Guys,

Iv booked my signum 1.9cdti 150 in for a new dmf and clutch, the guy that owns the garage asked if i have concidered a conversion kit to take the dmf out and replace it with a standard flywheel

So i asked how much it would be compared to putting the standard dmf in, he said he'l check the prices out for me and give me a ring to see what i want to do also adding that in some cases it can be £50 or so CHEAPER !!

Im wondering if anyone on here has had thier car converted and what the effect it has on the car is?

I dont know if it will cause other problems by doing it? as the car was designed for a duel mass flywheel not a solid one!

the car isn't due in for over two weeks yet so thought id turn to the trusty forum to shed some light on it for me

thanks for any responces on this in advance!

I will keep this thread updated as i get the prices from the garage!!

To be honest i dont even think there is a conversion kit available for these 1.9s.
Ive just converted my pug 406 hdi to a solid flywheel and that conversion kit has only been out about a year and that model is now about 500 years old so not sure if there is a kit out for yours yet..

I had a DMF changed in my mk4 Golf GT TDi and at the time we considered putting a solid one back in but were advised to only replace it with a dual mass one as it can cause more problems down the line. I can't remember what as it was a while ago. I can hear mine going now on my Vectra but holding out until it gets really bad! lol.

can cause gearbox problems along the line not will but can as a the DMF smoothes the power surges before they reach the gearbox and the gearbox will have been designed for one to be used
