    Default Wheel Bearing + Warranty

    Hello,

Just wondering anybody ever had and experience with AA Warranties?

I bought my car 55 plate, 1.8 Vectra Sri hatch about a year ago from an ex Vauxhall dealer back up in Scotland, the car had done about 35k, the Car has now done around 55k and im almost 100% sure that the nsf wheel bearing needs replaced.

When I purchased my car it came with AA Warranty, after speaking to them they tell me to book it into a Nationwide Autocentre, to get looked at and they will call the AA direct and see if the claim is valid. This isn’t easy for me as the nearest Nationwide Auto centre is around 2 and a half miles from work and I cant really get away from work to drop the car off/ pick it up. So would probably mean taking a day off which I really don’t wanna do if I have no chance of them paying out.

The cover booklet lists parts covered as below…

    Wheel Bearings
    Front and rear wheel bearings.

    What is not covered…..

    3. General servicing and maintenance, the adjustment or cleaning of components, wear and tear or faults caused by lack of maintainance.

just wondered what peoples opinions on the chances of them paying out are?

    Default

    "wear and tear"
Well they could use that far any and all component failure!

What they actually mean is other components that need to be replaced as part of the component that has failed but are still in perfectly good condition

Usually the warranty company will send out their own insurance assessor
He will look at the "failed" component and agree it needs to be replaced, and that is the ONLY component authorised for replacement

    Example :
nearide front brake caliper seized, damaging the nearside disc and offside front pads have worn unevenly
Garage advises that front brake pads and discs also need to be replaced
The warranty will only cover the brake caliper, the "wear and tear" to the disc is not
