It's behind the front bumper mate.

Its a small black circle thing about the size of a 2p coin in width, if I remember. You'll see it as you look at the front of the car, normally lower middle grill section, if not, just look under the bumper, or down in front of the radiator and follow the loom if you cant see it straight a way.
found it .cheers for your help mate. luke
With ref: outside temperature sensor,do the boffins amongst us know.....when this sensor picks up the xtreme cold, does this in turn ,switch on the diesel fuel filter heater ,which is connected to the top of the filter.....
Q. WHAT TEMP DOES IT BECOME ACTIVE/INACTIVE.
Q. WHAT TEMP DOES THE HEATER REACH AND IS IT CYCLIC.
COME ON BOYZ Thinking caps on pls......
sorry boyz.....
I am going to make an assumption.
For the most part, the temperature sensor in the front bumper / grille is purely for the temperature gauge.
The real temperature controlled functions are affected by the Coolant Temperature Sensor, which is screwed into somewhere in the cylinder head - (thermostat housing or waterpump housing). The CTS will feedback all info to the CAN system. The CAN system will then control any necessary devices (add-on heaters etc).
Regarding actual active range for the diesel heater...I shall hand that part to someone else, as I don't know.
