The blurb says so. Seems to be an EDS remap using the IPF handheld tool with all the available power/torque/EGR blanking options.

The price seems good. Why does it refer to Windows-version compatiblility? Something lost in translation?

Not sure as to wether it will do more than 1 car, i'd be very surprised it it did. Regrding Windows, it does not currently work on Win 7......so will have to sort something out with XP to get it up and running.

It only does one car and is locked to it! But I think the beauty is you can take it of, and put it on another car, just one car at a time!

I noticed at mpg, they used the same piece of kit to do mine, but it must be a special dealer version which licenses versions to cars?

So it can be sold on at a later date?? I assumed it was like the BSR and locked?

I liked the results of some previously mapped cars on here, including yours and like the idea of being able to revert to original map if the need arises and for £460 delivered its better priced than the BSR unit. They also offer support.

....so this unit comes pre-loaded with the maps, or is that what the PC is for (you download the maps to the unit)..?

As far as i know, for example if you buy the 1.9cdti one, you get all versions of the map on it, i.e higher & lower torque, egr bypass etc. I believe you can select which one and then put it on your car yourself.

But once its on, its locked to the car and the unit cannot install anywhere else. But, if you take the map off the car with the unit, then you can put it on another one.

Thats what ive read? Hope im right??

    Mike

I like the idea of being able to change the map on the car, and remove it for when going back to the dealer (for example)..... oh no... my mrs would kill me

The translation to English from German could have been clearer. On second thoughts maybe the Windows thing is a bit misleading, as BSR remaps require you to down them to their PPC device connected via USB, and thence to overwrite the previous map.

Personally I would be wary of having varying map options, the BSR generic map seems to suit everyone who has it, but there again I'm probably an over-cautious technically ignorant old fogie LOL

Certainly news of how you get on will be of benefit to us all, especially to those who might be consedering getting a remap.

Personally speaking 'distance remapping' works just fine if the product is good enough.

The price is keener than MPG which is a potential bonus.
