Default anyone know the the vectra electrical system well? (non starting VXR)

I got hold of a cheap vxr last week. I stuck a new engine in it and now it's refusing to start although it start once and i turned it off.

I stuck a code reader on to it and it came back P0230 (primary fuel pump malfuction). I checked to see if there was a live feed to the pump and there's none. Followed it back and eventually got to the fuse/relay box in the rear.

There's power going to the relay but there's no signal going to the relay and it's not switching. I've started to trace the signal wire back and it goes into the rear doors on each side and then off up the front (haven't explored fully where yet)

I can't understand why it would go to the rear doors.

I'm looking into weather the plugs are the wrong way round as it looks like it's been tampered with before but everything seems to be working in the car.

anyone know where the signal for the relay should be coming from?

i'll stick a picture up when i get home of my fuse box so hopefully someone can compare also.

    cheers in advance

Its all part of the CAN system... If it was the immobilser then you would have the padlock symbol showing near the tacho on the dash.... I think the feed to the fuel pump comes off of a red/blue cable on the rear fuse box... You could if your careful provide 12volts to this and see if the car then runs.... You have several units which form part of the immobilser circuit... Engine ecu, drivers door ecu, passenger door ecu, rear fusebox and the dash ecu... Any problems with the immobilser from these would flag the padlock symbol...

When you say the 'signal wire' for the pump what wire are you following and why do you believe this is a signal wire?

There's no padlock symbol which i've seen on another vectra so thats why i doubted it was the immobliser.

I traced the thick red/blue wire from the fuel pump. It goes to some sort of control module underneath the passenger seat (which no pwer is going to). I followed the thick red/blue wire back out of the box upto the fuse box which took me to a green relay which i believe to be the fuel pump relay.

I removed the whole fuse box and tested each of the connectors on the fuse board where the relay goes in to every pin. I worked out which ones are the feed to the relay, output to the module (which in turn goes to the pump) signal wire and a earth. Following that signal wire (thin black and red) takes me to the rear doors and upto the front of the car

I have bridged the relay pins and the plug that goes into the module and can get fuel to the engine that way

Would the control module under the seat be a fuel cut off? Has it been activated somehow? Can you reset it? It may have started due to a small amount of fuel in the system.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

It's possible that it's been activated if thats what it is as it's had a minor bump but theres no power going to it. When i bridged just the relay it never started. when i bridged the module plug also the fuel pump started to work so that could be an option that i hadn't thought of.

The previous engine had been tried to start a 1000 times then i stuck a new engine in and there was fuel pressure in the line at first but after that there's been no fuel since.
