    Default Gsi creak.....

    start the car... no issues.

    clutch in..... no issues.

    into 1st gear...... no issues.

clutch out slowly, and as the car moves it creaks. its coming from the front but I dont know why, any ideas???

also, it ticks over at 500rpm when warm, is that right, it seems too low to me.

    thanks if you can help.

Thats about right for the 3.2, mines the same. As long as it doesn't stall, why worry

The creaking could be a bush or spring up front. Also possibly the rad mounts.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

500rpm when at temp seems reasonable... there's a goodly amount of mass spinning around so it will be slower than the smaller/lighter engines.

sig, I would love you to have a go in my car to compare, it seems a bit lumpy off the throttle and it seems a tiny bit down in power, or it could be that I'm now used to it....

I'm sure its ok, its always the same when you change your car, you find lots of little things that your not sure about. I'm sure its fine.

But, if it helps, run it down to about 30 miles left, stick a load of fuel cleaner stuff in it and take it out for a good hard blast. Hit the rev limiter in second It may help it clean things out, but only if your happy doing that.

I do that about every other tank.....lol

it returns about 30 to the gallon and still pulls quick enough.

a lad at work has got a 130bhp seat ibiza and while my car was quicker, the seat didn't embarress itself at all.

    mind you, the gsi is:

    0.104 bhp per kg

    when the ibiza is

    0.103 bhp per kg.

    not far behind.

It's only in the higher speeds you'd pull away. It's down to the gearing as well
