    confused Coolant warning light

Hi guys I was on my merry way to the office this morning when the coolant warning light came on, I am wondering if when the car was serviced in Feb should his have been topped up or changed. Also what would you guys recoomend for the coolant as have not had to touch it untill now.

    Cheers

    Ally

Also the coolant was toped up in the service in Feb so is there any quick way of checking for a leak? because it shouldn’t have gone down that much in 3 months. i have had a quick look but can’t see anything unusual.

Best way of finding a leak is to first check for puddles under the car where it has been parked after being used. If you dont find puddles then look for steam around the engine bay and rad that would indicate a vapour leak. Do this when the engine is hot and preferably on a cold evening with a torch.
This was how I found out my rad was leaking, rusted along the edge.

Get the cooling system pressure tested at your local indy garage, NOT a VX stealer. Should show up anything bad or where there's a leak.

For me it turned out to be a rooted water pump. Started off slow but in the later weeks it literally was dumping 500ml of coolant every 2 days.
