    Default Sump Plug Stuck Fast...

Came to change the oil on the VXR yesterday afternoon and I couldn't undo the sump plug. It was completely stuck...

Using the 13mm spanner, it started rounding off the edges, so I stopped.

Any ideas before I take it to the garage and pay someone with explosives to remove it?

(I tried WD40 but still wouldnt budge)

    Box spanner?

If it won't come undone, it must have been overtightened too..... Who did that?

I had same prob first time i serviced it, ended up taking to my local garage to get it loosened, why do garages tighten them up so much?

Had the same problem ended up taking it to a garage. Next time I will purchase a 6 sided socket not a 12 sided one as they slip. If its rounded then you will have to bite the bullet and take it to the garage.

I tried the same and then realised later that since it's a sump plug, it's sealed against oil

6 sided impact socket and a bar, where its started to round tap the edges of the head of the bolt with a hammer to push the knarled up bits back then the socket should gain better purchase on whats left of the bolt (i assume your going to fit a new bolt and washer wink wink nod nod). Hope this helps.
