    Default Air trafic controllers

I need the help of any Air Traffic Controllers.
Larisa and I are due to fly to Rome from Birmingham via Zurich on Wednesday, for Larisa,s Daughters wedding on the Friday.
But I hear the Volcanic ash has come back.
Is there any predicted disruption, or is it too early to tell.
Any information from mebers too. Would be appreciated.
    Cheers all.

I have been looking on there. I just wondered if Air Trafic controllers might have a better insight to it all.
I suppose they use the same monitoring system as the Met office though.

Friends of ours have their flight cancelled this afternoon, Gatwick to Inverness. I heard it affect us for the next two days.

Airports across much of the UK are to close between 1300 and 1900 BST as volcanic ash drifts across Europe, the air traffic authority Nats has said.

In England, East Midlands, Manchester, Liverpool, Doncaster, Humberside and Carlisle airports will be hit by the Civil Aviation Authority's no-fly zone.

Airports in Northern Ireland, Prestwick near Glasgow, those on Scottish islands and the Isle of Man are also affected.

London airports are unaffected, while Dublin remains open on Sunday.

    Cheers Telly Adict.
I have just been looking on the internet and it seems "today" at least most air ports above Birmingham are either shut or have dispuptions. Below Birmingham ( london "etc") seemm to be ok. So is Birmingham at the moment.
Looks like I will have to monitor the situation frequently to get a better idea.

Ed, if I were you I'd start planning ferry and route as backup! About 750 miles to Zurich from Staffs mate. Make a nice drive if time isn't too much of an issue

It is a possibility I suppose. I have my fingers crossed we will be ok.
There are quite a few of their friends flying out there too.
A stressfull situation for a number of us.
