    Default LPG - is it worth it?

    Iím tentatively looking at getting my car converted to LPG, 3.2 V6 just fed up with putting £45 a week in petrol but love my car and do not want to sell it, if I keep it for another 3 years might just be worth it and would up the resale value.
    Looking around the web it appears LPG is about 50% cheaper, so:
    £45 x 52 = £2340.00 = petrol costs
    £22.50 x 52 = £1170.00 = LPG costs
    Saving = £1170.00 x 3(years) = £3510.00
    £3510.00 - £1200.00 (install cost) =£2310.00 total saving (over 3 years)
    I know you still have to put petrol in and there are LPG serving charges involved, just not sure if it's really worth it

    Anyone got any input on this

    One thing thats always in my head is that I cant trust the price of LPG to remain low.

    Id be pig sick if I went for it, and the price went up, only saving small amount ?

    I've got it on mine and I wouldn't be without it.I tend not to use it on short journeys,but motorway trips everytime.I dont notice any difference in performance at all,despite what some people say .I did a trip to Stoke from Heathrow and back all for £20 .If you plan on keeping the car for that long,and the mileage you do justifies the install costs go for it.The price may or may not go up in the future,but if it does you can be sure petrol and diesel will rise even quicker.

    I would imagine so, I obtained a quote from an LPG company when I had a 2.2 and they quoted me about £3400 so they though it was lol !

    No probs, just searched my old emails, it was greenfuel

    http://www.greenfuel.org.uk/quote/stage/2

    Ive just checked though and they do not convert mutlipoint or something and they declined the Vec C 2.2 ?!!!

    When i had the quote, it was for the Z22SE (Vec B)

    If it is possible, make sure you shop around.
