A question about changing my stereo

Hi All, hopefully somebody can help.
I currently have an 06 Sri Facelift with a CD70satnav. I am thinking about changing this for an aftermarket head unit, my question is what will happen to the screen i have in my car at the moment, will it still show anything?

i think the satnav works from the headunit, iirc, so that'll be gone

Yes the satnav does work from the headunit, so you will lose that. I assume you'll have the time / date / temp etc, and maybe the fuel computer screen like you see when the stereo is off and ignition running. Remove the headunit and see what the screen displays, try it before buying another stereo. You will also lose the use of your steering wheel controls unless you buy an adaptor for the new headunit.
