    Angry flywheel warranty free replacement

hi guys, looks like i'm the latest in a long line of dmf failures

reading thru the many threads on this topic i'm wondering if i should be able to get help from vx with this...i've seen many references to the reasonable use laws and don't believe i have had this from my car..a flywheel should last the life of the car and niether myself or anyone i know has had a problem with one before the vectra....

mine is a 2005 1.9cdti 8v with 116k on the clock so is this too old to bother trying?

has anyone else fought vx with this with any success?

It won't hurt to ask but to be honest I think you would be very lucky to get one done, even if it has a full VX service history.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

i think they're more or less classed as a service part these days as they fail soo often
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

at £1700 a pop i'm not surprised..the cars only worth about 3k and i can't bring myself to spend that much on it...think i'll be treating it gently and hoping it goes thru the mot this month then look at chopping it in...either that or hope one of stobarts finest takes a liking to my back end...

1700 quid??? I didn't know you could get solid gold dmf's now lol. Theyre only 235 quid for a genuine luk one, plus 260 quid for a 3pc genuine luk clutch kit (retail prices) plus 5.2 hours labour (tops 500 quid at main stealers) so at the very worst your only looking at a grand done and back to like new again.

I would think given the cars 5 years old with 116kmiles on the clock Vauxhall will pretty much tell you to jog on.

In all likelyhood they will tell you no chance - nothing wrong with asking though

genuine vx bits are luk just in a vx box and probably a hell of a lot dearer, I did my 1.9 and the bits cost me 414 quid (im on the highest discount at euro car parts) and 0 quid in labour (i did it myself, took the labour charge out of the mrs's body lol) but if I was going to do one for a customer I could do one for 650 quid including parts labour and all fluids.

The boys are right, definetly not going to last the life of any car fords, vag's etc etc there all the same. Your gonna waste your money booking it in cos all there gonna do is give you a quote to fix it.

The car is 5 years old and with your mileage i think your lucky it has lasted so long.
