    Default 3.2 gsi problem.............?

after my run down to london on tuesday, the car has become very lumpy especially off the throttle.

any idea what could be wrong?

the weird thing is the fact that my mpg average has gone up since its became lumpy.

    thanks if you can help.

Have you cleaned the throttle body recently? Might be gummed up on the lower surface (by the butterfly plate) as this is where the crankcase breather enters. http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35586.

Also, is the tickover lumpy at all? If it is, again a good clean of the TB might suffice.

I tend to clean mine out every two months - don't actually remove the TB but disconnect and remove the air intake at the TB, push the butterfly flap open by hand (engine OFF of course) and wipe the TB clean and the edges of the butterfly flap.

I would say clean the throttle body too. Sounds like a dirty Air Control Valve.

the throttle body was quite clean when I took the pipe off, gave it a clean anyway.

the filter was clean as well.

I'll buy a new fuel filter tomorrow, theres a euro car parts near my work and they are really cheap.

doesn't seem too hard to do, it was easy to find...lol

I'll flush the old one with water and open it up - interesting to see if its mucky.

It'll go back to the garage if I can fix it, its under warranty.

Tony, I still hear from on other forums, Dived off of this forum when he got his Alfa.

Phatty(Baz) his son was on here recently, had problems with his SCV's on his V6 CDTi and had to farm it out as repairs were going to be too costly.

As for Roberto in Mexico, haven't seen him on a forum since last March.

Odd really, I know he was possibly getting together with a woman, but that shouldn't have stopped him logging on.

He was due off on a holiday at that time as well IIRC, haven't heard from him since. :
