    Default The experiment begins.....

Right filled the car to the brim today (56 litres) and have decided to go till it runs out completely and see how many miles to a tank and wht the actual fuel consuption is on my 2.2.

I am thinking of replacing my k+n with a normal filter as well but might not bother lol

this should be interesting, might be worth taking anything you dont need out of the boot and avoid driving with the windows down.

very interested in the MPG you get and the distance you can travel on a tank, may also do the same with my 1.8, then we can compare.

    Good luck.

Errr Grae, dont do anything of the sort, you will drag all the **** off the bottom of the tank and gunk up the filter which is a pain to change, the tank one I mean that protects the pump, do it this way, fill up, run it until you get 20 miles range left, fill it up to the brim again, use the same pump as well, then devide cost by gallons by miles.

Well if the weather is still boiling, and you are using air conditioning, remember to factor this into your calculations as it appears everyones fuel consumption is much much higher than normal.....

    just a thought...

i did over 18 miles to work after the range was at 0 lol.
its really i havent used the car as much for work last few months so have just been chucking a tenner or £20 in as needed but on some bollox shifts that i need to take it next week so i thought time to find out lol

i'll be sticking fuel can in and may just see what the fuel computer sauys in terms of gallons used and stop at say 10 or 12.

    Will keep you all posted

There will be a strainer on the pick up pipe in the tank, so no gunk with infact be drawn up the tube to block any filter. These are fit for life, and cannot block (as they are a barrier and not a collecting filter).

    Kuss makes them.
