After 3 weeks of waiting for the car to become suitably dirty (it is outside 24/7 and when not in use rests at the top of a breezy hill on a fairly busy suburban side road)
I recently purchased a new (budget) power washer (nilfisk C110) and an autobrite HD foam lance. I was hoping to take some of the physical effort out of washing as I am in my twilight and not as good on my legs as I used to be.
Below I post 3 quick pictures taken today after I washed the car quite simply with snow foam alone !.
1. A coat of light/medium thickness foam to allow for it to run a little. This took me about 5 minutes. Allowed to dwell for 5 minutes or so by which time the vertical panels had just about run off but the bonnet boot and roof were still coated. First power rinse. Could now see greyish dirty thin foamy mix round the bottom of the car.
2. A second thicker foaming. Another 5 minute dwell and a final rinse. This time made sure that channels, seams, and corners were clear of foam. Not so much dirt noticeable on the floor this time.
3. Pat dry using an Eurow jumbo microfibre drying towel. Got round the whole car including the glass without ringing out. Time approx 7 minutes.
The whole job took less than 35 minutes in fact it took almost as long to get the kit out and pack it away.
By the way I used Valet Pro neutral PH foam. Approx 10mm in the lance bottle with 800 mls of quite warm water. Still had 1/4 left when finished.
I'm a very happy old man . Clean car no swirls.
