    Default Wing mirror replacement.

    Hey all,

the black rim surrounding the wing mirror glass on my vectra has a large chunk missing initialy i thought it was rather simple to replace until i removed the mirror glass to find its actualy a large part of the wing mirror itself.
i have found a replacement wing mirror to swap it with but have a few questions on how to carry this out.

    1. replacing the colour coded cover, ive seen the clips that hold this in place to the black plastic but have no idea other then brute force and breaking it to get this off as one of the clips is located about two and a half inches down a tiny passageway.

    2. the smaller colour coded section around the joint in the wing mirror can this also be replaced?

    3. lastly removing the whole unit fron the car, im assuming that the inner lining would need to be peeled back slightly to expose the fixings? is there any particular easy way of going about doing this if so?

i have briefly searched through old threads for similar problems and didnt notice anything but apologies if this has been recently discussed.

    Many thanks for viewing

1: yes (ive used flathead screwdriver, and broke ½ of the fixing still fits okay)
2: yes (when folded, you can see a small bit going down where to start, but take your time, and make sure the mirror is warm, as its easyer, and wont break as easy)
3: door card off to get to the fixingpoints

Something waterproof and flexible. An impact adhesive for example.

DON'T use superglue. It doesn't allow for expansion and contraction in hot/cold weather and could end up breaking the glass.
