Default hey guys -1.8 or 1.9

hey guys. finally registered on here. I have a dilemma!

i have 2 cars to choose from. 1 being a 58 plate 1.8 vvt sri nav (140) having done 26000 miles for £7700.

my second option is a 07 plate 1.9 cdti sri (150) having done 59000 for £8500.

I originally wanted the diesel but the newer cheaper petrol caught my eye. Can i have some genuine opinions please guys.

    Thanks in advance

    Jay

forgot to mention that the 1.9 cdti has the exterior pack. 19" snowflake alloys, vxr spoiler skirts and splitters also.

    Cheers

you need to weigh up the pros and cons - what sort of milage do you do?

high miles then has to be diesel

lower miles then i would go petrol as there seem to be less problems with the engine

The 1.8 seems to be the most reliable according to a recent poll we had on the site,

However there seems to be a lot more diesels around so make of the figures what you will..

Your best bet as some have already said is to have a good read about the issues and make up your own mind.

    Vehicle : Vectra SRi

    Trim : XP1

    Engine : 1.9 CDTi 150

    Year : 2007

    Mileage : 66000

    Default

Pure town driving, I would go for a CDTi 120 with the XP pack.
