    Default Remap or New Exhaust

Right guys, if I wanted to get a little more power out of my car which of these two would you recommend? From what I can see the price for either will be very similar.

    ECU Remap
New sports exhaust (probably from MIJ)

By the way I've got a 1.8vvti SRi.

I have the engine, let me know how it goes and what it feels like!

I think the remap would give you more. The engine will be designed for some back preasure, so the exhaust might actually make it worse. Best bet is exhaust then remap to take advantage of it!!!

I don't think there is big power gains from this engine without turbo charging so good luck!

To be honest, the benefits from a remap is quite minimal. The gains would only be about 15 bhp. That's a lot of money for very little horses. Not too sure about the exhaust. I know someone who has a 1.8 and he fitted the vxr exhaust onto his car and hasn't had any problems with it. I believe there may be one for sale on eBay. Hope this helps
