Default 3.2 GSi remap advice if possible.

I have searched on the forum but have given up seeing if there is anything up about this, can anyone recommend or know of any companies that can remap a GSi.

    Thanks people
    David.

The gains are minimal and maps have proven not to be worth the money.

Some have got 250bhp after a remap, just be weary of over fueling giving bore wash.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

250bhp i contacted a few places a year or 2 ago and the most i got offered was another 15bhp.

I suppose it depends on what the car is running just now, people have mentioned there cars are standard at 230bhp. Im running standard with a K&N panel filter and it feels lively, would'nt mind a shot on a rolling road lol.

Very few have , I can think of 2 that have had that sort of power off this site and they ve said they had custom maps.
They would nt say from where though, and everywhere I've rang up only offer generic maps for the GSi
People that have had the generic maps have all had problems
I might be wrong and there might be good examples but I've not read of any

I can only think of 3, only one of which has a custom map but the other two have both had bore washing problems. I know where 2 of the 3 maps came from. The other was on the car when they bought it.

I was only asking as now that the cat has been removed it doesn't seem to be as lively as it used to be, just wondering if a remap might help me out abit.

Did you disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes to reset the ECU and allow it to re-learn the engine without the cat?

15 bhp might not sound like a big gain but I suspect that an engine remapped to remove the holes in the torque curve necessary for a car manufacturer to meet noise regs, etc., would give real, tangible improvements in driveability and throttle response across the entire rev range. If I could free up the cash, I'd get mine done NOW!
