    Default 2.2 Direct Performance Boost

I'm been thinkin about some sort of hp increase, a remap/chip kinda thing, dunno what I'm talking about though when it comes to that though! I see alot of stuff for the diesels and the V6 petrols, don't think I've seen anything for the 2.2 Direct, any products available?

    Heck yes! Remap rules!!

David, they're hard to find, but there are a few things you can do with the 2.2's. For starters there's the air intake system, K&N flat panel filter and air box mod will help, or you could go for ripping the air box out completely and putting in a cone type filter which has the advantage of giving you a great induction noise.

You can also play with the exhaust system, get a cat-back system from Powerflow or Longlife and as long as it doesn't create more back pressure then you should see a good boost from that.

After you've done them, get it up to Jayson @ Chipped UK for a remap, prce is good and for the money I doubt you will find a better way to improve the performance of the car, mine's totally transformed for the better.

Neil was yours a custom remap or a standard upgrade chip remap? If the latter then he could get it remapped and then when he does exhaust and intake mods it will adjust itself

Yeah as Mark says they were tuned 'live' as it were to run best on the way the car was currently set up, at least that's how I understand it. What you're suggesting John would seem to need a new chip to me?

So Fiat using the petrol engine now then? I know they share developement with the 1.9CDTi but this is the first time i've heard them connected to the 2.2 petrol, thought these were GM developed units from the Vec B era.
