    Default Result !

Had some bad news a couple of weeks ago.... a French lorry driver just caught my front bumper, wing and the tiniest scuff on the headlamp. I got the drivers details and contacted his company via their website. To my surprise they emailed me requesting details of the accident and a repair quote. Got a local body shop to do a quote last week....£767 .

Anyway, got an email today saying they were going to pay up in full by bank transfer . My guess is that £767 is less than the excess on their insurance.

Might get a cheaper touch up job done and spend the rest on a new inlet manifold.

Has anyone bought the manifold from Vauxhall Spares place on Ebay. I spoke to them and they supply the OE part in a Pierberg box instead of a Vauxhall box....just the same thing I guess.

The manifold is £185 (for the 1.9CDTI 150) as the trade price goes ie you will pay more though.

The swirl bar and drive module are seperate items too.

Don't know really where to question this? but doesn't it make sense to not give 'buying' rights to non members...(eg hide selling section but allow to post).. this would benefit members who need items? sorry but not checked small print prior to 'joining' tonight.. but thats so petty..

The right to sell on the forum is limited to full members only, the regular members cannot post in the for sale section but are allowed to make posts in other sections, this can lead to regular members offering items for sale. The full member priviledge of selling also is in force to protect the members of the forum as full members have to supply details of addresses etc and as such Admin have a record to help out in the event of a dispute. Full members pay £15 per year and one of the members perks is the right to sell their own surplus to use goods on the forum.
Basically if people want to sell on the forum they have to be members and is the same sort of arrangement that they have on detailing world for instance.
All of this information and more is in the forum rules at the top of the page.
I was not saying by the way that mucklestone was intending to sell his manifold but was just reminding him of the rules, if he had have mentioned selling the manifold I would have deleted the post end of.

Don't get me wrong.. not trying to cause arguments here.. I now appriciate that with members details recorded that disputes can be sorted etc..but after becoming a 'full member' this evening after 3 n half yrs(not because i wanted something..more a token for advice given) was suprised that joe bloggs offering a possible remedy to a 'full' members' problem was some what 'shooo'd away'...... refund please...and in return.. I'll give the best advice I can...for free

He wasn't shooed away he was just reminded of the rules if he was offering the manifold for free no problem. The rules have been in place since last year and discussed at length in various threads and as a mod I have to ensure they are followed, offering advice is not stopped and is encouraged from all quarters and all members, it is the selling of items that is not allowed for regular members thats all
