    Default Painting VXR rear diffuser

Hi all, I have on order a VXR rear diffuser to go around my nice new MIJ exhaust.

I have decided to paint it black but I am unsure what paint is best to use.
I was in Halfords today and spotted some rubberised bumper paint. Would this be the best option or would it melt due to being so close to the exhaust?

I was worried general car paint would crack over time as bumpers are fairly flexible.

Any thoughts would be of great help.

I'd use the standard vauxhall black paint. (black shapphire is mine) That way, you know the paint will be fine around the exhaust as thats what vauxhall use and if you don't like it black you could always sell it to someone with a black vectra!

Just in the process of repairing my SRi bumper and then getting it and my VXR insert sprayed up for my MIJ exhaust on my moonland saloon so will be watching this with great interest, post some pics once you've done, it may change my mind on what colour to do it

Yeah i know what you mean. i have seen a few of the lighter silver vectra's with body colour insert and it looks great i think. Would a moonland colour coded one look as good?
i like front of mine now with the de-badged no chrome look. i hope the rear looks just as good.

I have a silver vec and colour coded my VXR diffuser and it did look pretty good.

However I have taken it off the car at the moment as I'm having something else done to it

Finally got it painted and on. Word of advice though.. If you plan to get an exhaust made fit the VXR insert 1st lol.
To say it is close is an understatement, I think I will need to set to work with the dremel tomorrow as I can see it rubbing or worse melting.
I am really pleased how it looks though, wasn’t happy with how the old Sri insert looked.
