    Default brake warning light on

    Hey there,

Got an 04 vectra C 2.2 Direct and as i started the car this evening to leave work i noticed my brake warning symbol appeared which the manual states is informing me low pads on the front. (it's the symbol with a circle and some blocks going round it)
Well, i quickly checked erm and there is loads of pad left on both, in fact i would say they were only put on recently (i only got the car in jan of this year)
So driving home i tested the braking and there is no difference, i mean, it brakes fine, no noises, no funny feelings from the pedal and the car stopped perfectly when i wanted it too.
so would i be right thats its a senser issue of some kind? and more importantly, is it going to be expensive

    Cheers

    okay cheers buddy, no worries,

it kinda weird you know, it doesnt come on all the time, i drove to work and it didnt come on, then on the way home again it comes on, i drive a bit, turn engine on and off, then doesnt come on till i get home. Its if it just loose or something, still for a tenner might as well replace it anyways

    cheers guys

You can even cut and twist the wires together if you want.

No not at all, no laws or MOT regs being broke. The sensors only a indication. It only checks the front left inner pad. The rear inner pads wear faster so its really quite useless TBH. Mine had never been changed and over time the insulation broke down and it went off on new pads, really there needs to be 4 sensors.

ahh, okay rushy, no worries, wasn't too sure
well, i changed the sensor today, took be about 20 mins in total and now the worn pad indicator is off.

The one i took off looked like it had been on there quite a while, i thought they were suppose to be changed with each pad change

    anyways, cheers guys,
