    Default Diesel Leak 2.2dti

Hi, today carried out oil filter and oil change plus fuel filter on my 2002 Sri

2.2DTI. While laying under car noticed wet area around fuel pipes under

near side of car . The drip comes from a box which looks like a small rad,

its ali with two pipes coming out back heading to fuel tank , this is first

derv car I have had and dont know what box is While engine is running

    there is slight drip .

Does anyone know if this is a common problem and if the ali box is

prone to crack and leak or is this likely to be just a pipe leaking.

Car runs fine and starts fine and due to working away from home have left

it till next Monday when I can have a proper look.

Any advice would be much appreciated .

Hi, have the same problem, can anyone tell me what the part is, and what it does, and how much of a pain is it to change?
    Many thanks in advance

The small radiator under the floor under the passenger seat cools surplus diesel from the pump before it goes back into the tank. If you follow the pipes you'll find the temperature sensor that diverts the returning diesel through this radiator if it's too hot to go straight back into the tank.

You need to check with your dealer but it looks like the radiator part number is 13126698 and comes with the pipes attached. Vauxhall refer to it as 'Radiator, fuel cooling, return flow, with pipes'. There are a few fittings shown with it which you may also need if yours have corroded. There's a special tool for the QR fuel pipe fittings or you can use a screwdriver or similar to press in the 2 tabs to release.

All the new part is , is a pipe they have done away with the rad and just linked the pipes , I brought the proper Vauxhall part and it was about thirty odd quid, I had hte dealers fit it which was a hour labour, I would now do it myself and just buy some fuel line, remove the rad and join the two ends together and save a hundred quid.
