    Default Insp

    Hi All
Is it possible that the service message, can be permantly disabled - the car was serviced by the garage that i bought it from (non-vauxhall dealer),

I bought it aprox 12 months ago, and it had done about 19k miles its not done 32k and I still havent had the INSP message appear on the odomoter

i tried the trick of pressing the mile reset button (not pressing anything else) before you start the car (no key in the ignition) as mentioned elswhere on the forum to display how many miles are left to the next service but even that didnt work - and now im worried that this message has been permintly disabled (somehow) by the garage that serviced it

The service interval is 20k so if it was done before you bought it you probably wont see the insp light til 38-39k.

    Hi
Ive had a proper look in the handbook, and it says that a service is due every 20k miles, or 12 months, which ever comes 1st - well 12 months was up on the 15th of this month - (thats when it was last serviced) and the INSP warning still hasnt come on - it surely cant have been permantaly disabled can it?

Mine does. InSP appears approx 3 weeks before the service is due, and I only do approx 10,000 miles a year.

    I don't do 20K miles pa....

I believe it depends whether it's the Flexi-Service Schedule - mileage based or the Fixed Service schedule date based...Our 55 reg Facelift C Z18XE is 20K or 12 months whichever comes first and starts to display INSP 1000 about a couple of weeks or so before the 12 months is up and dropping to say 500 then 300 upto the 12 month 'deadline' even if I dont cover the mileage indicated.

    Cheers
