Default Black smoke when putting foot down

    Hello to you all,
I got the car remapped last month and I read that when putting your foot down, there will be a lot of black smoke. It also stated that this will eventually go away. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do to reduce the amount of black smoke coming from the exhaust when putting my foot down. Apart from blinding the car behind, I'm getting annoyed with cleaning the tailpipes every other day so want to try and sort it out.
    Cheers,
    George

mine does it mate... its par for the course Dont think it ever really goes away once mapped! Tell you what though, i was following a mate in mine the other day, its not as bad as it looks through the rear view mirror!

Mind you... youve got 2x back boxes... twice the smoke exit

I'm guessing your running diesel? In which case it seems to be normal.. one reason I never went diesel as even the high performance skodas and golfs blow out half a black cloud when down shifting and putting the foot down... not nice

Mine does put out a bit of smoke on full chat, but not a lot. I did get a new manifold a month and a half ago and that cleaned the smoking right up.

Is the EGR bypass on your remaps partly the reason and maybe a decat?

I suppose atleast its behind you and may obscure the other persons vision temporarily, giving you a head start on them.....

Mine is getting better all the time, so I guess it's getting rid of all the leftover cruddy bits in the system...
