Help needed please

Can someone please help with this?

When i bought my Vectra it already had this kit fitted inside, it doesn’t seem to fit any phone that anyone i know has.....

So i went to halford and asked if the front bit could be taken off and to see if they would have anything that would fit an iphone (as i have one of those)

The person said that there is nothing that they could help me with and he didn’t really know what to say to me so now I’m lost and don’t know where to turn or where to go to find out...

Here are some pics below of the kit that is in my Vectra....also i have a CD70 Navi in the car....

I used to have the same phone kit when my Vectra, but without the overhead microphone.

I just took out the bottom shelf, then the Climate Controls panel, and the phone hold just unclips, then trace the wires back (mine went to side of glove compartment) and unplug.

Not sure about your other query regarding iPhone though.

I want to keep the kit thats already in there and wanted to know if there is any way that i could connect my iphone to it at all....anyone got any ideas?

I doubt that would work with anyother phone that what it was made for, looks like a Nokia kit?

TBH the best option is to buy a Parrot MKi series and remove what you've got. These can stream music etc via bluetooth or the more pricey ones buy a Ipod connection.

Thanks for your advice, iv looked at the parot kits and they are pretty pricey for a good one, im thinking of getting one of those fm transmitter things?.

Where's that car kit from, the 80s?!

That's a dedicated phone kit and can only be used with the make of phone it was intended for, you can't convert it to anything else. There'll be a box of tricks hidden somewhere behind the dash, probably behind the glove box, just follow the wires, unscrewing everything required to get to it and remove it. My parrot thread might help (see especially pic 10).

The FM modulator for your iPhone is the easiest and cheapest way forward. You can get a holder for the iPhone which will fit on the metal part of the mount (unscrew the phone cradle from it), e.g. here or here.
