    Default suspension noises

i have supersport coilies on my gsi and theyre really starting to **** me off.

1st problem, every time i turn at slow speed i get 2 clearly audible clunks/twangs (one each side)

2nd problem at low speed driving my car sqeeks a rediculous amount. sort of like a old bed in a porn film

    any ideas?

have you got the rubber sleeves on the bottom coil of the spring, where it sits in the bottom spring seat on the strut?

also, a mechanic at work suggested putting some spray white grease on the bottom spring seat while the front wheel is jacked up with no weight on the suspension. apparently the yank motors they work on have a similar problem when new springs have been fitted.

i have similar noises since fitting my Koni springs & have the rubber sleeves & have sprayed them with white grease, so im now suspecting the drop links and/or the ARB bushes.

As your running on coilovers I don't think spring seating is the problem here. Were the strut top bearings replaced when you fitted the coilies? Thats where i'd start

no mate but but has said by others you do need to soak everything in spray, you have to remember when you fit a kit like this it will highlight any weak bushes etc when mine was first fitted it was awfull we had to obtain be-spoke settings from a company down south who specialise in set ups, the car now is fantastic to drive and sticks to road like glue, stick with it and you will get it right
