1.9CDTI engine temperature?

Hi everyone,

what is the correct operating temperature for a 1.9cdti? My signum seems to run just below 80C most of the time according to the gauge. All the previous vauxhalls I've had normally operated at about 90C. It has done over 100k miles so perhaps the thermostat might be getting tired.

Just wanted to check before I order a replacement. Is it a straightforward job to change the thermostat on the 1.9 cdti 120? I've done it on a 2.0dti Astra before, but I can't even find the thermostat housing on the Signum.

Mone runs anywhere between 80 and 85, done 101,800 miles

as above... Change one on my old salvage project due to it barely reaching 80 if the heater wasnt on hot... new one cured it..

need to do one of the show car as well.. Its right hand side of engine near the battery, remove the cover from the engine and you'll see it.. Bit knuckle strapey to do with the battery in the way but possible..

btw, its an all in one housing...

mines didn't register above 75 but after inlet manifold was replaced it quickly reaches around 80 - 85
