Thread: Time to go ?

    Default Time to go ?

Well my Vectra VXR is 3 years old this month and the warranty is now finished.

Its done 27,000 miles and is in full working order. Still looks lovely, but its time to change... or is it?

What would you change it for, or should I just 'freshen it up'

I thought about putting a new leather interior in, coilovers and PowerFlex upgraded bushes, getting the wheels refurbed in Power Silver... then just keeping it.

Or should I get shot and get something else. if so, what should I replace it with?

    What do you think?

If you like it, keep it. Unless your worried of having a VX out of warranty..... Although with your remap etc, whats actually still covered? Not many of the major expensive bits i guess

Thing is, I actually really like this car it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

The warranty thing hasnt really bothered me as I like messing with my cars anyway. Which is why I may just keep it and do the 'freshen up' thing.

Just been hankering after a VXR8 for a while (especially the Supercharged one), but cant help feel that I would be losing a really good car with the Vectra and spending a whole load of money for another slightly faster car (and then have the issue of keeping it reigned in all the time)

Seems so, but then its only helped with your decision seeing it written down.

Why not a cheaper Monaro etc for a summer car?

..... have a tinker and if you then still feel the need ....the need for EXTRA speed - then consider the VXR8

Well, thats just the thing, 'better the devil you know'

I've owned this Vectra since 2000 miles on the clock and I know exactly where its been, and what its done, and its a good car as I've really looked after it.

So in some ways, unless I was changing for something which I thought was very special, then there isnt any point. I may as well just keep it for weekend use, freshen it up and continue saving for something special whereby its a no brainer to swap the VXR for.

I'll just keep it for a while. watch this space then
