    Default Indicators on facelift

I have just been reading the online owners manual and I don't get this you can access and change the headlamp bulb's easily enough, but it says to refer to the dealer for the indicators???????

What is so difficult on this one? access, mounting, fitting? Never had this before on a mainstream car, I can tell you a BMW 7 series, the big bloated ugly one! takes 6 hours labour from BMW to change a side light bulb though

iirc the front bumper is supposed to come off to change bulbs on the facelift. If you have small hands then you may be ok

Ahhh,,,,,,, It just didn't make much sense but I guess they must be tucked under the cross member then, small mit's and a mirror may scrape by, I knew I had a 5 year old daughter for a reason

IIRC from when I fitted my HID kit, there isn't enough room for the indicator socket to be removed from the headlight assembly without first pulling the headlight forward because the inner wing gets in the way. It's also easier to change the drivers side headlight bulbs with the bumper off and headlight out.

To change my headlamp bulbs I unbolted the airbox and moved aside for plenty access space and on n/s just took off the top half of washer bottle.easy peasy.

Unbolting the airbox, or removing the bumper takes about the same amount of time. As I wanted to mount the ballasts under the headlights, it was easier to remove the bumper to gain access.

I previously tried changing the offside dipped bulb (before I got HIDs) by moving the airbox out the way and I suffered far less grazes and cuts to the back of my hand by removing the bumper 2nd time round.

I apologise for this, but couldn't justify starting a new thread for a question relating facelift indicators.

Are the silvatec bulbs (silver coated ones from ebay/halfords etc) different on the front compared to the rear? I bought and changed the rear indicators, but didn't know if the front were the same design (offset pins). Your help is appreciated. George

what? you must be the fastest bumper remover in the world.

Airbox = disconnect pipe and pull airbox out
bumper = 3 screw under each arch, 4 plastic rivots under bumper, 4 screws on top then unclip each side
