    Default Dashboard Display

Hi everyone..... can anyone help a newbie??

I am the proud owner of a Vauxhall Signam 2.0t

I have a problem with my dashboard, and it's driving me potty. The display in the centre console above the radio, which displays fuel range, time etc, and also the little display on the main panel underneath the rev counter and speedo, that states the mileage is really really dull, to the point where you can barely see it!
Can anyone tell me if this is a problem they have had, or if there is a easy fix to this problem??

I've tried the control to increase the brightness on the dash, and this works fine with the back lighting but has no effect on the displays mentioned above.

Am I facing a trip to the steelers??

Please help me get on with enjoying my car!

    Many Thanks,

    Dave.

Might help to know how old your SignUm is.... I assume it's possible for backlighting lamps to degrade like any other.
First though, I'd have to give the standard answer regarding the illumination control sbove and right of the headlamp switch... if you haven't already you should press it in so it pops out, then gently twist it to the right as far as it goes and hold it there until the illumination goes as high as possible. This will only work when you have the side or headlamps switched on.

Also does it change contrast when you turn the lights on? Try going into the settings and make sure its on auto.

    Hi Guys,

    Thanks for your quick response.
I have a 2004 Signum Elegance. I have tried the little pop out switch at the side of the headlight switch, but all this does is make the main display lights behind the speedo dials go brighter and duller, but it doesn't effect the display above the head unit or the display that shows the mileage.
Also when you turn the main headlights on it has no effect on the problem displays contrast either.
For want of sounding foolish, how do you enter into the settings menu as advised above?? and what are degraded SMD's??

    Many Thanks,

    Dave.

    Hi Andy,

The headunit says CCR2006 on the front of it? Is this the info that your looking for?
