Question the good and bad of the 1.9cdti engine?

what are the good and bad points of this engine..the 150 version?

i hear they pull well and respond to a remap brilliantly. but are they reliable at the same time?

so whats the good and the bad things about these engines?

    thanks,H

The swirl flaps are on the inlet manifold. The bar that controls them can fall off and the only real solution is a new inlet manifold

    As said:

EGR Valve - can cause poor low down performance
Swirl flap issue - Can cause poor drivebility
3rd injector loom - can cause the engine to eventually shut down - very dangerous actually
Dual Mass Flywheel - Can start to rattle - left long term this can start to damage the solenoid and starter motor.

And in issue that seem to be surfacing (and apparently can be solved for £4) - Turbo vacuum hoses can split causing poor performance.

To be honest it is the the usual you could be buy a lemon or buy a peach.

Personally I dont rate this engine's reliability but performance wise its a gem.
