    Default mirror dim how much...

    Ive retrofitted drivers dimming mirror...

but how much should it DIM ?

the rearview mirror dims no problems there.. but im actually not sure it my wing mirrror dims.. as im not sure how much it actually does... (if it does)

i have the wires in the plug, but had to put the wires in the mirror plug it self.. (maby i have them swaped round, but does that do any difference?)

You can tell it's dimmed, darker and has a IIRC has a greenish colour, very similar to the rear view mirror TBH.

Ken, sorry I couldn't reply to PM i'm on my mobile and PM's never seem to work correctly with it. On the REC there is a variant for "interior mirror dim function" present or not present. Will have a look on the wiring diagram when computer is up and running again. Sorry cant help anymore at moment.

all my wiring should be correct.. as i have the interiour that do dim (and the wires go to the REC)

and from the REC the correct Yellow/white and Brown/yellow. goes down the "side sill" to the drivers door plug (havnt checked if any wires where broken there) and then throught the door loom to the mirror.. in the door and mirror the correct wiring is present to..

Plasma was to recall that there might be that option in the DDM.. (ive got no chance in checking up on that). I knew the option is there in the REC for the interiur and that should be enable, as its working..

No option I think in DDM as the DDM isn't wired into circuit. Looking at the wiring diagram fuse 27 on REC powers the mirror dimming function on the interior mirror with a connection from the mirror to ground, hence I believe the interior mirror works by itself and hence no option in REC for it to operate. Fuse 27 also powers, airbags, TPMS and sunscreen if fitted to support my theory that it is live at all times. Now from the mirror there should be three further wires two which lead back to the REC and onto the door mirror and another from pin 3 on the mirror to pin 10 (XR8) on the REC this is the signal circuit that the mirror as dimmed and then instructs the door mirror to also dim, which is where the variant comes in. Give me 5 minutes as i'm going to try something now.

from my interiur mirror i have the flat ribbon cabel with something like 16 wires in to the REC..

2 from what i could se should go on further to the wing mirror.. (the yellow/white and brown/yellow..) i couldt see a 3 wire that should be connected.. or atleast i dont know..

Just tried with Tech2 REC Variant set to Present Interior Mirror and Exterior Mirror dim. Set to not present Interior Mirror only dims.

The flat ribbon cable should lead to REC Plug XR8 as long as their is a connection in PIN10 I would of thought it would be connected into REC. It comes from pin 3 on the mirror plug.

then it should be present... as ive fitted a complet loom in the roof.. so the correct wires should be there..

and then the 2 wires on to the mirror.. but ill guess its not easy to meassure any "current" going through the wires..as thats the only possible way to check if anything goes through..?

humm even more strange... because then it all just should work..

but could it just be that the wing mirror dosnt dimm very much? (as i dont know..so i maby dont notice?)
