    Default Wheel nuts

I've just bought some Vauxhall alloy wheels for my Vectra which currently sits on steels, are the wheel nuts the same between Vauxhall alloy and steel wheels?

No you will need proper alloy wheel bolts as the pitch of the shoulders differs.

So how come you don't need different bolts when fitting the space saver then?

What is the space saver for? For travelling at a maximum of 50mph and going straight to get your tyre sorted. It isn't meant to be a permanent fitting. Your alloys are

Regardless with a space saver where you're only supposed to do 50 mph max, it will still do a lot of damage if it were to come off, so I can't see how the bolts are different for steelies and alloys.

Some cars however do have different bolts for fitting the space saver / spare wheel (I think the Merc A class for instance).

Also some of the Vauxhall locking wheel bolt kits state they're suitable for alloy or steel wheels.
