Default No throttle, traction control light, engine management light

    Vectra, 54 plate, 1.9 SRi
I start the car up and theres no power in the accelerator. The car is idling high. The traction control light is on and so is the engine management light is too... any ideas???
I have been told it may be ECU, does anyone know the cheapest way to get a knew one?? can I just get one from a write off or scrapped Vectra of the same year and type??

In a word, no. If you did that you would need a lot more than just the ecu ie the key reader, the key out of the car you get the ecu from, the injectors (theyre coded). Doing it that way could end up costing you more than getting your ecu repaired or a new one. Have you had the codes read? It might be something silly. Get it plugged in and get the codes out of the ecu before you do anything. If it turns out there is an ecu fault there are companies that can repair them, gotta be cheaper than the stealers.

gettin it done 2moro. I'll get the codes and act from there. Just been advised it was most likely the ECU. But by reading a bit on here, it could be plenty other things. Wont no until its plugged in. Cheers for the advice.
