    Default Replacement Locking Nut Key

Yesterday I wanted to paint my brake callipers a nice shade of blue, but I couldn't get the wheels off.
It seems the **** who had the car before me had tightened the locking nuts, and the key was split in 2 places, and worn down, so had to take a trip to my dealers and cost me £31.26 to order a new one. It was either that or get my drill out

I just hope that when the key arrives the locking nuts will come off. I'm guessing it very expensive to get them if the key can't?
I'm just annoyed that you can get keys for less than £10, but I had to order a replacement at over £30..

if the key won't remove them, drop either me or Plasma a line as we are kind of experts at getting them off now..

I would start applying WD40 or something similar, now to the nuts to assist in getting them off. When you then get them off apply a bit of copper slip paste to the threads before you replace them again. This will make it easier in the future to remove the wheels.

When you get the new key, take the car to a tyre place and ask them to undo with the airgun, if you try to do they with a normal brace you will shred both the key and the nut, I had this myself, ended up vice squashing the key to get some grip and airgunning it off, the gun will shock it itno moving, where pure arm power wont. HTH.
