Vehicle : Insignia VX-line RED Tourer

    Trim : No, over weight!

    Engine : Flux Core Capacitor

    Year : 1 A.D

    Mileage : Rising

    Default Mileage beyond zero

Do you trust your cars onboard info ?

I've deliberately been putting mine to the test this week and went 62 extra miles beyond the fuel computer reading zero ! Had a can with a drop of petrol in for when it started to cough .

Have to say that i've now bottled it and been and put some fuel in !!!

How many extra miles have you done when the fuel trip reads '0-MILES' ?

Have consideration for the deaf, if you're gunna fart, make it smell !

I've never let it get that low on my 2.0T. used to fill up at 1/4 tank but now I wait till the petrol pump shows up on display about 30 miles left according to computer.

I only put a tenner in at a time, get 50 miles at a time. I'd put more in but on a tight budget at the minute

When mine says I've got 0 miles left it normally still has about 5 litres left in the tank, but I hate to think what's swilling around at the bottom of the tank and the problems with a CDTi if you run it dry so I don't do it on purpose...

Just have to accept sometimes that I can't fill her up on BP Ultimate every single time if thre isn't any around...

i've gone 35 miles past 0 on one occassion and everything was fine on my CDTi. probs still had another 70 miles worth or so left in the tank

usually refuel when the range gets into single figures.

Best way is I suppose, when OBC says 0 miles brim it then repeat and the difference between tank vol and the fill gives you the margin for error?

The only time I'll take the chance is if I'm going for the largest mileage from a tank, which so far stands at 550 miles...
