Well I've done it from Harrogate towing (where I used to live in the past). Obviously the first part is of no interest to you, but the last bit was
M53 to End onto A55. Left on A483 Wrexham, Oswestry, Welshpool. Keep going on A483 Newton, Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells. As far as Llandovery, then A40 (Carmarthen) to St Clears join A477 pass Kilgetty then left A478 (Tenby).

It is a good few years now, so can't remember how long it took, but probably a good 2 -3 hours maybe. It is all single carriageway pretty much once you get on the A483.

The A483 and the A5 merge at some points, so as I recall it's pretty good straight road with steady inclines etc, nothing too drastic at least as far as Newtown. The Newtown to Llandrindod Wells is the worst bit, quite twisty and some steep bits in places, so may be worth branching onto the A470 at Newtown and then picking up the A483 at Builth Wells. It's further that way, but is a better road for that section.

After that it's fine all the way to Tenby

AT LEAST 4 hours from Wrexham. If you do Newtown in an hour you are going well.

I do Swansea in between 2 1/2 and 3/4 hours and that is quick ( not towing). Newtown - Llandrindod Wells is bendy in parts (worst bit is near Newtown - I know a short cut but not for vans)

Stops for food on route are

    Chirk ( McDonalds )
    Oswestry ( Burger King/Little Chef )
    Newtown ( Morrisons, Tesco, McD's, Chippy )
    Landrindod Wells ( Chippy )
    Builth Wells ( Little Chef/BurgerKing )

Beyond this I do not know.

Have you considered The Gower ? Great beaches and countryside with Swansea and The Mumbles nearby and if you like golf well........

Different route for this, sat nav and AA/RAC directions are pap but don't take my advice, I've only done it about 800 times
