Painting Over Vinyl Stickers...

Know a couple of you have done this recently, how many coats did you do over the vinyl (paint/lacquer)... Once stuck down did you rough up the vinyl (gently) with 1200 grit etc?!?

Now its done how confident are you its not just going to peel off and look pants

I just kept on rubbing down and adding a new coat until the sharp edges had gone then finished with a clear lacquer. I only done the bottom trim of my steering wheel as it was scuffed anyway. Seems ok & pretty tough. But as it was just a small part I'm not to concerned if it went belly up I'd just get a new one. However it still looks good and I'm more than happy with the result.

Do you think it would stand up to a jet washing? Planning on something with the rear chrome strip...

yeah once its had tome to dry hard, can't see why not.
