Custom exhaust question 2.2i direct

I have just had a price for a cat back full stainless sports exhaust for my 2006 2.2i direct signum (twin back boxes) £389 including fitting i choose the tailpipes and sound etc
Now the fella says that my cat is on my manifold is this true?
Also he is stating that i will get 10% extra BHP (i work that out to be around 15.5 BHP extra on the standard 155 BHP ) this seems to be alot extra for just and exhaust also 30lb ft of torque and better MPG


What is the general thoughts on this or is it just sales speel

He's right about the CAT, it's in the downpipe and £389 isn't far off the going rate. The power figures are slightly ambitious but it will certainly feel a little more responsive.

I'd give MIJ in Walsall a ring though, a hell of a lot of the exhausts on this forum were done there including mine and if you mention the forum they'll do it for £355, they're approved traders on here and got a VERY good reputation, I can't sing their praises enough after the job they did on mine.

You wont see that much on a 2.2 mate. The ideal bore would be 2 and a quarter and down to 2 inch from the Y section back, you only really need 2 and a half if you have cams ect. Remember its the torque you want hence to bore size, unless you want to be red lining it everywhere then go bigger LOL.

This is my MIJ one on the z22se engine (2.2 Non-Direct) but as Rushy says they're basically the same basic engine.
