    Question Headlight Mod

I´ve beeing very curious about the headlights of most of your cars they have a black surrounding trim....I´m gonna use a pic from Caterman as an example...hope you don´t mind that show off your car mate

I assume they are like that from factor.....but I´ve beig thinking how to mod mine and make them look somehow similar.....don´t know if any of you guys have removed the clear plastic cover of the headlights?..Would it be posible without breaking it?

This is how mine looks like, you have seen them before.

    Rob,

Those lights are factory fitted like that to certain models and they are a sealed unit so I don't think you can alter the light themselves. You can however buy the complete head light unit from Vauxhall and there are now a few 3rd party manufacturers for these units. One such company is FK Automotive, they sell the lights at around 119 Euros. Web site: http://www.fk-automotive.com

Or you could get carbon effect covers to go over the lights that give much the same effect for a lot less dollar!

This thread should explain it a bit Rob. It's a straight swap of the whole headlight unit. They came as standard on the Vectra SXi/SRi/GSi in the UK. Don't know if they did that on models in Mexico?

I'm sure you could get them from your dealer, but given the price they wanted for a TC, gawd knows how much they'll want for them!!!

Thank´s all you guys for your comments, as always very usefull, I knew the headlight itself is sealed, but it was worth asking.....here in Mexico we have no a such wide selection of Vec´s....they are all the same....like mine....the only difference as far as I know is how equiped they are, mine for example is the less equiped....no lether, no foglights, etc. Saul´s for example is more equiped than mine but is the same car with same engine an all of them have the clear headlights.

In a future I would buy the units...in Europe of course....ship them up to here and replace them for the dark nice looking once.

Oh! in the mean time has any body has a pic of the carbon effect covers that Andrew mentioned....have no idea how they look.

    Thank´s again all.

Slightly off topic - when's somebody going to do a light conversion for the C???

They produce them for the astra, it might look gay, but we wont know until someone tries it? I'd lone my car to them for sizing etc purposes......
